3) CONTRACT QUESTIONS

What is LEOSR?

LEOSR is a staffing company,  owned by a Physical Therapist, specialized to assist  Home Health Agencies through sending licensed physical therapists,  occupational therapists, and  medical social workers to their patients’  houses.

Does LEOSR cover Mileage?:

No, we do not cover mileage. Being an independent contractor therapist, you are responsible in declaring your mileage and get the tax deduction from IRS at the end of the year.

What is the time for work?:

Your  time is flexible if you work with us. You can see patients between 8am to 6pm. However, your schedule is coordinated with your patient.

Does LEOSR have a referral Program?:

Yes.  PLease call or email April and she will explain the system to you.

Why Do I need professional Liability?

Professional Liability Insurance protects you from claims if your patient holds you responsible for errors, or the failure of your allegations. It will pay for any resulting judgments against you, including court costs, up to the coverage limits on your policy.

Does LEOSR have a liabilty insurance for the company?

Yes.  As an IRS definition of  "independent contractor (IC)", you must be responsible for all your equipment to be use during patient care, responsible for your renewal of licenses etcs. If something happen during your practice, your license will be held liable and not the company since you are an independent contractor. Usually it is wise to purchase the coverage prior to seeing any patient.

You may work in LEOSR or any therapy company without a professional liability insurance. Some HHA's do request your profesional liability insurance.  But why take a risk? The $200 to $400 per year cost of insurance may save your profession and family.  Our suggestion is, don`t practice your profession without a professional liabilty insurance.  You are taking a serious risk.

Either way, it is recommended that the IC carries his/her own professional liability coverage to protect themselves.  Also, IC’s carrying their own coverage will help protect Theramax from the responsibility of carrying the IC liability.

For more research on this we recommend you to ask your insurance agent. You may also go to your state insurance department. It  is your best resource for insurance-related questions and concerns.
